In September 1967 I started my freshman year at St. Columbans Seminary at Silver Creek, New York. It was a scary time for a young kid, and my first time away from home. That week the director of the Columban Fathers, Fr. Boland, had just died at a young age. He was buried in the little graveyard overlooking lake Erie. Over the next year I met many great Columbans. It has been over 50 years since then but I still remember them with fondness.
