Lord, sometimes when we are frustrated or angry
we can be unkind to those we love the most.
This can be especially true during this time of stress
and anxiety brought on by the corona virus.
So we call upon your name to help us
to control our own anxiety.
Help us to be patient with those close to us
who are feeling pain in some way at this time.

After I qualified as a veterinarian, I volunteered to work on an agricultural project in South Korea for two years which was started by Columban Fr. P.J. McGlinchey. While attending Sunday Mass the time went very slowly. Not having any Korean, I sat, stood and kneeled in silence. I was familiar with most of the Mass, but the readings changed every week, as well as the sermon. I didn’t understand a word, so I just presumed it was different every week.

Talking about gratefulness, many people say that it is all about being appreciative of the good things in our lives. We appreciate the person who shows kindness or does something good for us. Having a thankful heart also makes us focus on all the blessings we received from God and sees things in a more positive way.
