Heavenly Father, the Blessed Virgin Mary
was dedicated to You by her parents
when she was three.
Her holiness was very evident,
as she spent her days
praying and reading scripture.
You had great plans for her.
I ask Mary to pray for the plans
You have for my life.
Where I have strayed onto a road of my own choosing,

O Lord our God,
You are the healer of all mankind.
In Your merciful love
you heal us of sin
and the effects of sin in this life
and the next.
We pray to you, our Lord,
this day to accelerate your plan of final healing
and glory for our loved ones.
Call your beloved home
to the fullness of happiness
and glory with You for all eternity.

Recently Columban Fr. Daniel Harding wrote to us seeking funds for the Casa Betania Livelihood Project to help abused and battered migrant women in Chile. Below please find his request for assistance. In the parish of St. Columban, we have seven chapel communities and two of these chapel communities now have migrant house projects. The Casa Betania is one of those migrant houses. Our first parish migrant house exclusively houses single migrant men. Ten men live there at the moment (and two dogs!).

My name is Iowane Naio, and I am from Fiji. Father of mercies, God of all comfort,
hear our prayers for the souls of the faithful departed.
Console them in their sorrowful exile
from the kingdom prepared for them
from the creation of the world.
We make our prayer for them
through Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who loved them and delivered Himself
up for all of us.

Amen

Lord there are so many reasons
to be fearful in our world today.
Help me to realize that You are always with me.
You created me and sustain me.
You are my refuge.
Guide me and help me to do what I can
to live in full confidence that You
are at my right hand.
Let me live with deep trust
in your constant care for me.

Shed Your light upon the hearts
of Your faithful people, O merciful God,
and through the glorious prayers of blessed Elizabeth,
grant that we may despise worldly welfare
and ever be gladdened by Heavenly consolation.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
Who lives and reigns with Your
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,
world without end.

Inspiring people

Getting to know the people in this community of Rancho Anapra Corpus Christi Parish, Juarez City, México, was my number one priority when I arrived here after learning Spanish. I visited families and got involved in parish activities such as catechism class and prayer groups.

O Eternal Father, I offer You the
Most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said throughout
the world today, all the holy souls in Purgatory
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the universal Church,
for those in my own home
and in my own family.

Amen.

The disciples cried out in panic
when their boat was almost sinking,
aroused from Your slumber
You calmed the storm,
and all was peace again.

Lord, I cry out to You, too,
to arouse You from Your slumber.
Lest the waves overwhelm me,
as it’s all too much to bear.

One minute I can feel fine,
the next I’m struggling to put on a smile.
