Blessed are You, loving Father,
For all your gifts to us.
Blessed are You for giving us family and friends
To be with us in times of joy and sorrow,
To help us in days of need,
And to rejoice with us in moments of celebration.

Holy Immaculate Mary,
help all who are in trouble.
Give courage to the faint-hearted,
console the sad, heal the sick,
pray for the people,
intercede for the clergy,
have a special care for nuns;
may all feel, all enjoy Your kind and powerful assistance,
all who now and always render and will render,

Every Saturday afternoon, Fr. Paul drove off faithfully in the car by himself. For several years, all I knew was that he was heading to a Gamblers Anonymous meeting somewhere in the local area. There was nothing more that he said, or that I said, about this weekly outing.

I take You, O Sacred Heart,
for the sole object of my love,
the protection of my life,
the pledge of my salvation,
the remedy of my frailty and inconstancy,

and screen me from His anger

permit not that I should ever be separated from You.

your child, in prayer at your feet.
Accept this Holy Rosary, which I offer you
in accordance with your requests at Fatima,
as a proof of my tender love for you.
I beg you to present my petition to your Divine Son.
If you will pray for me, I cannot be refused.
I know, dearest Mother, that you want me to seek

Let me be your witness.
Lord, in whatever I do and wherever I am.
Help me to be humble and accept
that I can speak your praise in my own special way.
I don’t have to do anything spectacular.
I am the only one placed in this place at this time.
If I don’t speak your word it won’t be spoken.
May I always be your disciple.

Myanmar is far behind in terms of education, compared to other countries, having been shut off from the outside world for 50 years by the military junta. Now, they are struggling to catch up with the rest of the world. I feel that the education system here can be so oppressive.
